glass rods ready to be flamed into beads

Using a torch fueled by oxygen and propane, glass rods are melted and formed around a coated steel rod to make lampwork beads. The beads are immediately placed into a kiln for soaking and gradual cooling which insures a stable product. The beads are then removed from the mandrel and the bead release is cleaned out of the hole.
